History of Juliette Has A Gun brand

Classy and sophisticated in Lady vengeance, she can also appear sweet and fragile with Miss Charming. But be careful with appearances...
The ambition? To lead a new rock elegant trend in the perfumery world, by creating romantic and original creations.
Edgy fragrance house Juliette Has A Gun was born in 2005 out of Romano Ricci`s love of Shakespeare and romanticism. To truly carve out its own niche in the saturated fragrance industry, Juliette Has a Gun has focused upon dandyish product design, rich fragrances and tongue-in-cheek names to capture the imagination of their audience.
Their fragrance debut came with the double launch of the Miss Charming and Lady Vengeance scents in 2006, each perfume representing the duality of Romano`s central Juliette character, her lightness and her darkness. These two initial fragrances were co-created by elusive master perfumer Francis Kurkdijian, the nose of the iconic Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male and Narciso Rodriguez For Her fragrances.

More about Juliette Has A Gun

The symbolic gun, around which the brand bases their inspiration, is not a weapon of violence. It is a weapon of seduction, an accessory of bluff, the liberation of women. The Juliette Has a Gun philosophy is to approach each perfume like a piece of art: complete with a back story, an atmosphere, and an infusion of passion and emotion.
It is a reinvention of femininity: strong, assured and deeply and utterly romantic. With each coming fragrance, Juliette Has a Gun expresses a different form of femininity; the seductress (Lady Vengeance), the romantic (Miss Charming), the sophisticated (Citizen Queen) and the carnal (Calamity J), all based around the central note of a rose.
Juliette intrigues the world. Armed with her perfume, the Shakespearian heroine goes wild. Life is too short, and pleasures too many, says Juliette. The Gun, metaphor for the perfume, weapon of seduction, or simple accessory of bluff, essentially symbolizes the liberation of women towards men. And sometimes with a taste for revenge…

But the concept is also influenced by romantism. A modern version, where reinventing couple and femininity is a constant quest. Created and designed by young Romano Ricci, Juliette has a gun is an independent brand. Launched in 2006, our philosophy is to approach perfumery as an art and to be present only through a limited distribution such as concept stores, department stores or specialized perfumeries. A collection of 10 original scents, a Universal Purse Spray in the shape of a bullet and a collection of 3 candles are currently available, and other weapons of seduction are on their way.
